Was not what I expected. It is small scale. It is sturdy but I would not use it for a step stool. I do use it to sit on at my island to do prep work. Which works ok as long as I don't have to sit too long.

This is truly a piece of history. I love it. A great conversation piece. I just wish the seat was a little larger. it is totally functional as a step stool.
