  • I am very pleased with this Memorex turntable. It replaced a Teac model I'd used for almost 14 years that required the aid of a pre-amp device because my Sony receiver does not have phono input jacks. No such problem with this Memorex turntable. And if you've ever sprained a wrist trying to crank up the volume on a Sony receiver to the desired level you understand what I'm saying. When I tuned my receiver to the usual setting and started to play a record, the volume nearly blasted me out of the room. Instead of the usual "50-55" volume setting with the Teac I now stay within the "20-24" range, and every set of input jacks on my receiver will work with the new turntable. The connector cable that came in the package has the two RCA output plugs on one end and a single in-line plug on the other for a computer connection. So I used a cable with double plugs on each end that I had on hand. Later on, I may use the other cable to transfer some of my records or tapes onto discs. The setup and adjustments on the turntable are a bit tricky since whoever wrote the directions did not have a very firm command of English, but after about 30 minutes of adjusting and tinkering, I was very satisfied with the turntable's operation. I am also happy that the black color matches my receiver, the Magnavox CD player and Sharp audio tape deck.

  • Is it real, or is it Memorex?

  • I have been trying to find a decent turntable for a while now. I would definitely suggest that you avoid the other budget priced record players. This unit is just as advertised. It has a wood cabinet and a counter balanced tone arm. The turntable is very basic, as in it has RCA output jacks, speed controller and a needle drop lever. I Play my LPs that I just snatched up The Black Keys and it sounds quite nice indeed. No frills, no extra stuff to break. This is a truly good turntable with speed control built into the unit. I am proud to tell co-workers and friends that I own a Memorex turntable. :)

  • I injoy the turntable with my records, just wish it had a spare needle included.
