Toaster is a dud
This item costs $39.99. I thought because it was offered by Wards that the low price would not have anything to do with the quality of the item. I was wrong. When I took the toaster out of the box I noticed immediately how flimsy it felt and the level to put the toast down was crooked. I plugged it in, put some bread in and immediately smelled a bad smell. I unplugged the toaster and looked inside the toaster. I didn't see anything that could be burning but it was a definite weird smell. I replugged the toasted in the wall and tried to lower the lever.I could not lower it. I had to use 2 hands to lower it and then once it was lowered I was worried that I wouldn't be able to raise the lever back up. I was able to- but with 2 hands and the entire toaster knocked over in my doing so! This is just a bad product all around- should be taken off of the market immediately. I tried to return this item and was told that I had to pay between $7.95-8.95 in shipping. I'm shocked at the way Wards does not take responsibility for it's products.

Pure Junk
Bad smell when I tried to toast a piece of bread when I used it the first time. I had a hard time getting the bread down and back up again. This is pure junk and I feared a fire would ensue- that’s why I’m returning it after day one.

2 slice Hamilton Beach Toaster
Very nice toaster. Beautiful finish matches all my chrome-finished appliances. Toasts evenly and consistently. The slots have a setting for bagels which is nice. I'd recommend this to anyone.

This toaster goes with any kitchen from farmstyle to deco. Even has a bagel setting. Very happy with this purchase.
